“Saved by the Bell” actor Dennis Haskins will kick off the Community Speaker Series at Georgia Highlands College on Thursday.

Haskins will speak at 7 p.m. in the Lake­view Auditorium at Georgia Highlands. The speaker series is open to the public and is free of charge.

Haskins appeared as Mr. Belding on the popular 1990s television show, managing Bayside High and students Zack, Kelly, Slater, Lisa, Jessie and Screech. He also starred in “Saved by the Bell: The New Class.”

While he still acts, Haskins also brings his motivational and storytelling skills to college campuses around the country by bringing back the world of “Saved by the Bell” with his Mr. Belding On Campus tour.

In his presentation, he includes entertaining stories, meaningful leadership directions and a motivational message that captures the imagination of college students. He describes the hard knocks inevitable in pursuing one’s dreams and inspires students to become engaged while in school and to take chances.

Besides his four decades of acting experience, Haskins’ resume also includes music production and management.
