9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - School Program “Passport to the West” giving students an unforgettable Western Experience with demonstrations of pottery making, blacksmithing, caning, spinning, chuck wagon cooking and life at a trading post.

5-7 p.m. - Opening reception

7 p.m. - Featured artists presentation. John and Terri Kelly Moyers will discuss their art in the Booth Theatre.

Oct. 26

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Artist’s workshop

10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Art History Lectures on photography in the Booth Theatre

10:30 a.m. - Field techniques of the earliest Western photographers

11:30 a.m. - Advance Work: Art and Advertising in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West

2 p.m. - Shooting for National Geographic with nature photographer and N.G. contributor Peter Essick

3 p.m. - The Art of Collecting: Ansel Adams to Frederic Remington

Oct. 27

8 a.m. - Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter 5k Run.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Cowboy Festival, Children’s Activities and Western Marketplace on the museum grounds.

Performances on the festival stage will include Sounds of Appalachia, Olde Time Medicine Show, Shadows of the Past: Gunfight at the OK Corral, Native American dancing, Fast Draw exhibit and Fancy Roping demonstrations.

2 p.m. - Roy Rogers Jr. matinee concert

7 p.m. - Concert in Grand Theatre featuring Roy Rogers Jr.

Oct. 28

11 a.m - Cowboy church, a non-denominational service featuring cowboy prayers and Western spiritual music.

Noon to 5 p.m. - Cowboy festival, children’s activities and Western marketplace on the museum grounds. Performances include Luther’s Mountain Bluegrass Band, Olde Time Medicine Show, Hopalong Cassidy, Children’s parade, Jim Dunham’s Gun Tricks.

The festival takes place at Booth Western Art Museum, 501 Museum Drive, Cartersville Oct. 25-28. Admission: Adults - $10; Seniors (66 and over) - $8; Students - $7; Children 12 and under - $3; Booth members - free; Active military with I.D - free. * Concerts, artist workshops and school programs may include additional fees.
