3 arrested on shoplifting charges

Three people were taken into custody at the Walmart store in East Rome on Wednesday after police say they attempted to steal several items.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Steffani Ricketts, 26, of 110 E. 11th Street; Shanika Lashay Alford, 19, of 109 N. Martiele St. in Cedartown; and Cantress Jamille Sullivan, 27, of 8-B Lakeview Drive in Lindale, were arrested by Rome police. Each was charged with theft by shoplifting.

Loss-prevention specialists at Walmart, located at 825 Cartersville Highway, said that Ricketts attempted to conceal clothing and DVDs and leave the store. The items were valued at $86.

Alford and Sullivan were accused of taking food, clothing and vitamins valued at $137.

Each remained in jail on $1,350 bail on Wednesday night.
