3 arrested on theft charges

Three people were arrested by Rome police on Tuesday after loss prevention specialists at the Walmart in West Rome said they tried to steal items from the store.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Brandnet Jackson, 21, of 310 Woodall Road in Cedartown; Grady Harper Jr., 20, of 101 Roseway Circle in Rome; and Quantecia Reshae Starr, 24, of 283 Wax Road in Silver Creek, were all arrested by Rome police around 1:15 p.m. at the Walmart at 2510 Redmond Circle. Each was charged with theft by shoplifting.

Police said that the three individuals “took part in the concealment of $291 in merchandise and left the store without paying.”

Jackson remained in jail on $1,350 bail, while Harper and Starr were each released on $1,350 bail.
