AT&T seeking to improve service in Rome area

AT&T Mobility has acquired several properties in Floyd County, though at this time, the purpose of that acquisition is not clear.

The wireless utility has obtained property at 376 Miller Mountain Road near the Polk County line, 3766 Turkey Moun-tain Road in north central part of the county between Ar-muchee and Shannon and at 687 Mango Road in the northeast section of the county.

“I wouldn’t want to speculate on what this is,” said Don Barbour, a spokesman for AT&T in Georgia

All three properties are near existing cell tower locations.
