An Adairsville man was pronounced dead after a single vehicle crash that occurred in Gordon County Sunday afternoon, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Jody Hight, 21, of Adairsville died from “substantial injuries” he received after he was thrown from his motorcycle, according to Deputy Coroner Heath Derryberry.

Hight was traveling northeast on Ga. 225 near Ga. 136 when he lost control of his motorcycle, ran off the roadway and hit a ditch.

Hight was wearing a helmet.

Derryberry said EMS personnel did respond and performed cardiac life support. Hight was taken to Gordon Hospital.

“They attempted to revive him, but due to the massive amount of injuries, they were unsuccessful,” Derryberry said.
