Atlanta and Georgia among best places for women-owned business

The Peach State ranks seventh for the most women-owned businesses, according to the State of Women-Owned Businesses Report commissioned by American Express OPEN.

Georgia has an estimated 283,400 women-owned firms that employ 230,500 workers and have roughly $41.5 billion in revenue.

Georgia’s growth in women-owned firms from 1997 and 2012 was the best in the nation at 95 percent.
