Firefighter trainees for the Rome Fire Department were out on New Calhoun Highway Wednesday learning how to react during real fires in a simulation.
Curt Pierson, a division chief for the fire department, said that they had burned two structures on Tuesday at the New Calhoun Highway address, and finished off with the burning of a house.
He said that the 12 trainees will wrap up their instruction on Friday with more classroom time and will graduate Monday night at the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill at 6:30 p.m.
