When the Unity Christian School cheerleading captains cheer on their Fighting Lions, it’s personal.

For co-captains and seniors MacKenzie Marable, Emma Robinson and Mara Bryant, it’s more like cheering on their brothers, they said, instead of just any football team.

“It’s so much fun to be able to cheer on our boys because here at Unity, we’re more like a family,” MacKenzie said. “I feel like when I get out there, I’m cheering on my brothers. It’s just really fun to have that relationship with everyone. All the cheerleaders, we have our own football players we bring stuff for. It’s just a lot of fun to represent our school and our family the way we do.”

MacKenzie said she’s been cheering since she was in the sixth grade. Emma said she’s been cheering since the seventh grade, and Mara started her cheer career in the sixth grade.
