The Berry College Viking Crew team competed at the Chattanooga Head Race over the weekend.

This regatta marked the beginning of the racing season for Berry and the first race for the novice members of the team.

The varsity team includes Jordyn Wagner, Caitlin Lewis, Kelsey Taylor, Lizzie Hendrix, Rachel Smythe, Holly Selby and Kaitlyn Estep.

The novice team includes Daniel Hawes, Charlie Morgan, Michael Stephenson, Tyler Kaelin, Alexander Mann, Jerod Holland, Tanner Ayers, Alan Phrommala, Hayes Arnold, Brian Steele, Taylor Paynter, Brad Tilka, Leigh Diggs, Haley Brown, Jane Nelson, Jamie Moore, Elizabeth Blakely, Kaitlin Michals, Jasmin Miravete, Maggie Neja, Mallory Wood, Nadia Lima, Patrick Felch, Emily Melchior and John Allred.

The team is coached by Berry alum Andrew Williams, class of 2012.

Dr. Hamilton Dixon, long-time faculty sponsor of the Viking Crew team, also raced as part of the team even though he has moved away from Rome.

Dr. Dixon raced in the men’s veteran’s single boat category. Berry also entered three men’s novice boats and two women’s boats.
