Area viewers of “Vampire Diaries” may recognize an extra in upcoming episodes — Dillan Harcrow of the Harcrow Electric family in Calhoun.

The 2011 Calhoun High graduate and Dalton State College graduate applied through the casting company via email and appears, so far, in episodes airing Oct. 25 and Nov. 1.

“How much of me you will really see on TV is still up for debate,” he said. “I received a lot of camera time but they edit for all the scenes. Therefore, it may be a brief flash of me or any extra for that matter, or it may be long enough to actually see and recognize me.”

Harcrow has classes at Dalton while he works at the family business. He also goes down to Atlanta to film the show when called, “as long as it doesn’t interfere with school,” he said.

Extras are contacted by email on short notice so the location for filming can be kept private.

“I am fortunate in that my work schedule was flexible to be able to go,” he said.

Among the places to look for Harcrow are as a mourner at a church funeral scene and as a waiter at the Mystic Grill. He’s also filmed scenes at the Mystic Falls High School and for a college party.
