A Polk County man was arrested Monday morning after police say he was found with unauthorized prescription drugs in his possession.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Charles Matthew Bridges, 21, of 352 Duke Road in Cedartown, was arrested by Rome police around 6:30 a.m. He was charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs, drugs not kept in the original container and stopping in a prohibited place.
Officers said they found Bridges asleep at the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Ga. 53 and Veterans Memorial Highway. Upon investigating, police said they discovered a glass bottle in his possession with several Klonopin pills, a controlled substance for which he did not have a prescription.
Bridges remains in jail on $4,950 bail.
