Two area museums will open their doors for free today as the Chieftains Museum and the Booth Western Art Museum celebrate National Museum Day.

You must present a Museum Day Live! ticket at the door. To get the ticket, visit the Smithsonian website at Smithsonian.com/museumday, fill out the form and they will email two free passes to any of their affiliate museums.

Museum Day Live! fulfills Smithsonian Media’s mission to make cultural education accessible to everyone.

Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address. For more information about Museum Day Live!  2012 and a list of participating museums and cultural institutions, please visit Smithsonian.com/museumday.

The Chieftains is located at 501 Riverside Parkway. The Booth Western Art Museum is located at 501 Museum Drive in Cartersville.
