WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Jordan Rodgers threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns, and Zac Stacy ran for a season-high 180 yards and two scores as Vanderbilt defeated Wake Forest 55-21 on Saturday.

It was Vanderbilt’s sixth straight victory, the school’s longest winning streak since 1955.

Vanderbilt (8-4) scored touchdowns on four of its first five possessions to take a 28-7 lead at halftime and never looked back. Wesley Tate added two scores, and Jordan Matthews had 10 catches for 144 yards in the first half, including a 64-yard touchdown reception from Rodgers.

Wake Forest (5-7) needed a win to become bowl eligible for the second straight season but struggled slowing down the stretch, losing to North Carolina State, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt.

Tanner Price threw for 182 yards in the loss.

Wake Forest’s Michael Campanaro had eight catches for 98 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter with a left ankle injury.

MISSISSIPPI 41, MISSISSIPPI STATE 24

OXFORD, Miss. — Bo Wallace threw for 294 yards and five touchdowns, Donte Moncrief caught three TD passes and Mississippi pulled away in the second half to beat No. 25 Mississippi State 41-24 on Saturday night.

Ole Miss (6-6, 3-5 Southeastern Conference) won the Egg Bowl for the first time since 2008, breaking Mississippi State’s three-game winning streak in the series. The Rebels also earned bowl eligibility for the first time since 2009.

Mississippi State (8-4, 4-4) made a field goal late in the second quarter to tie the game at 17-17 going into halftime. But the Rebels reeled off 24 straight points in the second half to push past the Bulldogs.

Moncrief caught seven passes for 173 yards and tied a school record with three receiving touchdowns. Jeff Scott added 111 rushing yards.

TEXAS A&M 59, MISSOURI 29

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Johnny Manziel threw for 372 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more scores as No. 9 Texas A&M beat Missouri 59-29 on Saturday night.

The Aggies (10-2, 6-2 SEC) scored touchdowns on their first six drives to build a 42-7 halftime lead and coast to their first 10-win season since 1998. About the only drama in this one came when Manziel, the Heisman Trophy hopeful, was shaken up on a tackle at the end of a run in the first quarter.

But Johnny Football missed just four plays before returning with a brace on his left knee. And it didn’t seem to slow him down one bit.

The Aggies were up 21-0 when he returned, and he threw touchdown passes on three straight possessions to end the first half.

Missouri (5-7, 2-6) won’t make a bowl game in its first SEC season.

TENNESSEE 37, KENTUCKY 17

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tyler Bray threw four touchdown passes without an interception Saturday as Tennessee defeated Kentucky 37-17 in the season finale for both teams.

The victory assured that Tennessee (5-7, 1-7 Southeastern Conference) wouldn’t go winless in SEC competition for the first time ever.

Bray threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Zach Rogers in the first quarter and a 42-yarder to Justin Hunter in the second quarter to give the Volunteers a 20-7 advantage. After Kentucky (2-10, 1-7) reduced Tennessee’s lead to 20-17 midway through the third quarter, Bray put the game out of reach with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Mychal Rivera and a 21-yarder to Cordarrelle Patterson.

N.C. STATE 27, BOSTON COLLEGE 10

RALEIGH, N.C. — Mike Glennon threw three touchdown passes and David Amerson returned an interception for a score Saturday as North Carolina State defeated Boston College 27-10 in the teams’ regular-season finale.

Glennon connected twice for touchdowns with Tobais Palmer in a span of 51 seconds late in the third quarter to propel the Wolfpack (7-5, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Glennon finished 24 of 37 for 230 yards.

Amerson recorded his 18th career interception and took it back 55 yards for a touchdown just before halftime to give N.C. State a 14-3 lead.

NORTH CAROLINA 45, MARYLAND 38

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Bryn Renner tied a school record with five touchdown passes, while Gio Bernard ran for 163 yards and a score to help North Carolina beat Maryland 45-38 in the finale for both teams Saturday.

Freshman Quinshad Davis had nine catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns for the Tar Heels (8-4, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who blew the game open with a dominating third quarter en route to another big scoring output in their first season under Larry Fedora. North Carolina won eight games for the second time in three seasons but is banned from a bowl due to NCAA sanctions.

VIRGINIA TECH 17, VIRGINIA 14

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Cody Journell kicked a 29-yard field goal with 4 seconds to play, and Virginia Tech beat Virginia 17-14 Saturday to qualify for a bowl game and win its ninth straight from its in-state rival.

Antone Exum set up the winning drive when he intercepted Michael Rocco at the Cavaliers’ 36 with 3:21 remaining. Exum brought it back to the 24, and Virginia (4-8, 2-6) inexplicably held on to two timeouts as the Hokies ran the clock down. The Cavaliers used both timeouts to try to freeze Journell, but his kick sailed through.

MIAMI 52, DUKE 45

DURHAM, N.C. — Freshman Duke Johnson rushed for season highs of 176 yards and three touchdowns, Stephen Morris had three passing scores and Miami held on to beat Duke 52-45 on Saturday and claim a share of the ACC’s Coastal Division title.

In a wild affair in which the teams combined for 1,229 total yards, Morris finished 15 of 25 for 369 yards for the Hurricanes (7-5, 5-3) — who never trailed but could never really breathe easy, either.

Sean Renfree threw for a career-high 432 yards and a career-high-tying four touchdowns in his final home game for Duke (6-6, 3-5), which trailed by 21 late.

Brandon Connette’s second touchdown run of the day pulled the Blue Devils within seven points with 2:32 left.

After Ross Martin’s onside kick went out of bounds, Miami ran out the clock to seal its first share of a division title since joining the ACC in 2004.
