Linda Liles, who worked for Rep. Phil Gingrey, will be staying in Rome to work as a constituent services representative for the republican.
Gingrey represented Floyd County for 10 years, but his district was shifted east — to Bartow, Cherokee and part of Cobb County — in the reapportionment that followed the 2010 census. Graves is the incumbent in the newly created 14th District, and Floyd is one of the 12 Northwest Georgia counties it covers.
Graves announced this week that the congressional office will remain in the Federal Building on First Street in suite 301. But beginning Thursday there will be some renovations and the staff will work out of temporary offices.
Besides Liles, the office will be manned by Jackie Mooney, constituent services representative, and Drew Ferguson, field representative. The office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number will also remain the same: 706-290-1776.
The office will serve Floyd, Chattooga, Haralson, Polk and Paulding counties.
“Constituent service is the top priority of my Congressional offices, and I am confident that our three locations will provide the exceptional assistance that Georgians in the 14th district expect and deserve,” said Rep. Graves. “Whether it’s a comment on pending legislation or help with a federal agency, my staff and I are prepared to assist constituents with any federal issue.”
Since he no longer represents Hall County and the surrounding area, Graves closed his office in Gainesville.
His Dalton office remains at 702 S. Thornton Ave. and serves constituents in Catoosa, Dade, Gordon, Murray, Pickens (split county), Walker and Whitfield counties.
While each district office is intended to serve the noted counties, constituents will be able to receive assistance from either office regardless of the county in which they reside, according to a news release from Graves’ office.
