Dell Perot Systems on Technology Parkway is going to be phasing out around 30 positions at its Rome location after the first of the year.
Joe McNamara, director of corporate communications, said that the company was “trying to adjust some position skill sets.” Companywide, “given the varying skill sets on any given month the company will hire maybe 900 employees and will lose 600 or 700," he said.
Questioned about whether any of the Rome employees would be able to shift jobs within the company, McNamara said, “that’s unlikely, but those eligible will be encouraged to pursue other options.”
This round of job actions affects the Rome location only. McNamara said, “Rome is a very important location and the move would bring personnel at the Rome office more in line with higher levels of technology.”
Dell Perot Systems is an international provider of technology-based business solutions. The company came to Rome as Legacy Marketing, was purchased by Perot Systems and recently became Dell Perot Systems.
