Leadership Georgia, a prestigious 40-year-old organization of community and state leaders, is affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders from across the state. Past participants include U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn and Vince Dooley, University of Georgia athletic director.
Sixty participants are selected each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. Class members will visit five Georgia communities in a yearlong exchange of ideas and experiences about important issues affecting the state.
David Danzie Jr. of Macon, incoming president of Leadership Georgia, will lead the class with a focus on “putting the pieces together.” This class will travel to Young Harris, McDonough, Savannah, Moultrie and Athens.
