The East Rome High School class of 1962 hosted its 50th class reunion at Coosa Country Club with 50 former classmates attending. Classmates traveled from six states, the farthest traveler being Ann Levin from Cambridge, Mass. During the program a photo memorial was displayed for those classmates no longer living. All classmates, including their spouses, who had served in the United States military during the past 50 years were gathered to be recognized and thanked for their service and sacrifice. In addition, the ’62 Gladiator class football players and cheerleaders were recognized and photographed with that photo to be presented to former ERHS football coach Larry Muschamp from Mentone, Ala. Reunion organizing committee members included  Beth Sisson Harrison, Jim Raine, Penny Dye Martischnig, Larry Atkins, Bill Redmond, Faye Hanks Cummings, Grant Hagge, Trena Fricks Jones, Jerry Bramblett and Lyle Williams.
