Born in Cartersville, I consider myself a Roman because I’ve been in Rome since 1961 when my first wife and I moved here. She passed after a battle with cancer and is buried here in Rome; I’ve been a Caretaker and Widower I know what it takes to have compassion and concern for others. I have two grown children and ten grandchildren all who have went either to public or model schools in Floyd.

I was a Music Technician back in those days for B&S Music Company, I worked for Rome Fruit and Produce for 8 years as driver then I took the initiative to start a business with a friend. From there, as a partner in small business I ventured out on my own purchasing Coosa Valley Produce and managed that business until it closed in 2003.

In 1998 I first thought about serving the public by running for elected office. I ran for county commissioner and in the primary won all of the precincts in Floyd County including the city. I lost that race but not my desire to serve the public. I decided to run at this time because I have the common sense knowledge that will benefit our school board and people of Floyd County. As a retired business owner I took a part-time job with the Floyd County School System. I felt an obligation to set aside my job as a school board employee, at this time, so I resigned to run for the Floyd County School Board Post 2. This gives me invaluable insight to the workers and students of the Floyd County School System.
