The GNTC women pulled off a stunning comeback on Tuesday night — the biggest one in the program’s history, in fact.

Down by 21 points with 13 minutes left in the game, the Lady Cats rallied for an improbable 82-78 win over West Georgia Tech at the Winthrop King Centre.

The Lady Cats outscored West Georgia Tech 41-16 in the final 13 minutes to earn their first win over their region rivals in two years.

Leading Georgia Northwestern (9-8, 3-0) was freshman Odessa Person with 17 points and 21 rebounds.

Former local standouts Sierra Smith (Armuchee), Kiara Parks (Pepperell) and Emily Cole (Adairsville) provided big baskets to help propel the late surge.

GNTC visits Southern Crescent Tech on Friday.
