Rome’s Sam Ridge and Chris Cole bring their alter-egos Jake and Elwood back to MBs Comedy and Event House tonight as The Georgia Blues Brothers ring in New Year’s Eve with a concert.

After a successful 2009, which included the addition of their live band, the Backstreet Boogie Band, the Georgia Blues Brothers return to MBs for the second year in a row.

They promise an energetic show for Rome residents to kick start the new year.

“They were a hit last year and we expect them to be even better this year,” said Debarah McCarley, marketing director for Village Theatres. “They’ve gotten a new band and they just seem to be getting bigger and better.”

The group also added Shawn Ash, who has appeared on “Nashville Star” and “America’s Got Talent.”

The Georgia Blues Brothers are coming off a whirlwind 2009 tour called the “Broad Street Blues Tour” which took them all over the Southeast including Atlanta at the kick-off party for the real “Blues Brothers” concert held at the Tabernacle.

“That is something we will never forget,” said Sam “Elwood” Ridge. “I can’t believe we were face to face with our heroes.”

Tonight’s show will include the group’s signature blues, soul and rock hits as well as audience interaction. The show begins at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for individuals and $25 for couples and includes a champagne toast, party favors, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment.

Tickets are available by calling MBs at 706-290-2200 as well as at the door.

MBs Comedy and Event House is located on Turner McCall Boulevard next to the Village Theatres business office.
