In a game that saw 14 lead changes in the first 20 minutes, Southern Crescent held on to defeat Georgia Northwestern, 76-64.

Up by one point at halftime, GNTC could not find their rhythm against the visiting Tigers in the second half.

The first game of region play saw the return of freshman guard and former Model player Fernando Lemus Jr.. After a year-long rehab to treat torn ligaments in both knees, Lemus scored 11 points in the first half.
