A Gordon County woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she tried to use a forged check at a Rome convenience store in August.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Sherry Ree Ralston, 22, of 6848 Nicholsville Highway in Ranger, was arrested by Floyd County Sheriff’s deputies around 9 a.m. She was charged with felony forgery in the first degree and theft by taking.
Rome police warrants stated that on Aug. 18, Ralston attempted to cash a stolen forged check worth $50 at a convenience store on North Broad Street. She then allegedly took $19 worth of gasoline from the store by leaving without paying.
Ralston remains in jail without bail.
