“Scary Berry” will be from 8 to 11 p.m. tonight, 8 p.m. to midnight Friday and 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Berry College. The price of admission is $3 for children ages 12 and younger, and $5 for Berry students, faculty and staff, and Shorter University students with ID. All others pay $7.
The hay ride will pick up and drop off behind Hermann Hall on Berry’s main campus. Further directions can be provided at the gate house when entering the college. The event is a fundraiser for the Block and Bridle Club.
The YMCA’s Halloween will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grizzard Park. The event is free for YMCA members and $5 for guests. The event include a hay ride, dinner, a costume contest and a haunted house. Those planning to participate should sign up at the YMCA on Second Avenue or call 706-232-2468. Volunteers are needed.
“Haunted Ballads” at Chieftains Museum will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Hear the old “Haunted Ballads” as sung by Lynn Baines, Phil Helton and Gary Greene. Sing along to the old songs or learn some you never heard. These songs were heard in the old house through the years when it was a home. Halloween at the Mall will be at Mount Berry Square Mall Wednesday, Oct. 31, 6-9 p.m. The first 250 kids, 12 and younger, will receive goody bags with glow necklaces. Merchants will be providing candy, and all children will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe environment. The Halloween Bash for Breast Cancer Awareness Car Show will be Saturday in the Bargain Hunt-Big Lots parking lot on Shorter Avenue in West Rome. Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with trophies to be awarded at 1 p.m. Participants and spectators are invited to come in costume. A Best Costume prize will be awarded. Seven classes for vehicles include: Classic, Tuner, Mini Truck, Motorcycle, Truck, Rat Rod, Best Motor, Best Paint and Best Street Car. Early registration is $15 or $20 the day of the show. “Hallowed Hauntings,” featuring the Seven Hills Tellers, will be Saturday at Chieftains Museum. Stories for all ages will begin at 7 p.m. Stories for more mature audiences will be told at 8 p.m. The Seven Hills Tellers include Bob Harris, Jane Cunningham, Barbara Reeves, Debby Brown and Mary Elena Kirk. Cave Screams Ghost Tours will be Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This walking tour of Cave Spring will begin at the welcome center. Stories are based on real encounters. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Trick or Treat on Broad Street will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. Participating merchants will be giving out goodies to trick-or- treaters. Participants should be 12 or younger.
