Harbin Clinic Internal Medicine Physician, Anedi Gisela Eme-Akwari, MD, has achieved board certification from the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care. According to the

American Board of Internal Medicine, this certification recognizes excellence among certified internal medicine physicians who emphasize the care of seriously ill and dying patients with life-limiting illnesses in their practice. The field of hospice and palliative medicine is based on expanding scientific knowledge about symptom control when a cure is not possible and appropriate care during the last months of life.

Dr. Eme-Akwari received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Nigeria College Of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine Primary Care at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Eme-Akwari is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Physician Executives, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Medical Association. She is also board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
