The Rome Redmond Wellness Center, 2112 Shorter Ave., Suite 240, will provide services to the City of Rome and Redmond employees and their families.
Paula Dunwoody, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and the wellness center professionals, will provide primary, acute, and preventive care for patients two years and above, as well as occupational health, disease and chronic condition monitoring, workers’ comp treatment and management and wellness services. Additional services include blood pressure checks, flu diagnoses, X-rays, lab work and the administration of various vaccines.
“Improving the health of our employees and their families is our first priority” said City Manager John Bennett. “As the main purchasers of health care, employers are in a position to change employee health by providing resources and access to care and wellness tools. The City of Rome and Redmond are taking this innovative approach to improve employee health, improve employee access to low-cost preventive and primary care services, lower health care costs, and improve employee productivity,” stated Bennett.
“Taking steps to make sure employees are healthy has been shown to lower direct and indirect costs for employers and employees alike,” said John Quinlivan, CEO of Redmond Regional Medical Center.
“We knew we couldn’t wait for something to change — we had to take control. By partnering with the City, we’re making access to health care and wellness resources simple and convenient for our employees. We believe this is the right thing to do right now for our employees” stated Quinlivan.
