AS THE PROPOSED Publix grocery store slowly grinds forward, I wonder why the Housing Authority needs a two story office built on the retail site?
Are there not numerous buildings downtown that could be renovated for the authority? The authority seems to be the obstacle to getting this project done. I won’t believe it until I buy donuts in the Publix bakery.
The housing authority does a fine job. Just check out the duplexes they purchased on Avenue B. I was told that when everything was finished we only invested 900,000.00 dollars in four duplexes. I think Garden Lakes company builds similar and resales them for about 250,000.00 less but of course they use there own money.
