I am writing to commend our Floyd County road crews for their excellent work during our recent storm. I saw maintenance trucks patrolling major roads and stopping to remove tree limbs and other debris. In the neighborhood where I live, we had storm drains that clogged and caused flooding in the street.

The maintenance personnel responded to resolve that situation and returned the next day to clean mud off the road. These employees work in extreme heat and cold to provide the citizens of this county safe travel.

I recently called our 911 service to report an emergency. The 911 operator was professional and very efficient. The Floyd County police responded quickly to prevent a disaster.

Rome, Georgia is a great place to live. We are blessed to have the public servants that are employed in this area. Be sure to express your appreciation to our Floyd County police, maintenance crews, firefighters, EMTs (public and private) and our emergency management team! Well Done!
