Shorter College dropped to 2-2-1 in the Southern States Athletic Conference and 5-6-1 overall after a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Faulkner University on Tuesday afternoon.

Candace Edwards and Alex Yancy scored for the Lady Hawks, who are 0-2-1 in their last three matches, all three of which have been against SSAC foes.

Edwards’ goal was her 13th of the season and set a new Lady Hawk single-season record that was previously held by current senior Pauline Van Der Henst, who scored 12 goals last season on her way to All-Conference recognition.

Shorter returns to the pitch today at 3:30 p.m. when it travels to Athens, Tenn., for a rescheduled match against Tennessee Wesleyan.
