The Berry College women’s golf team will be in action for the first time this year Monday and Tuesday at Coosa Country Club when they host the Rome News-Tribune Invitational to kick off their spring campaign.

The Lady Vikings will be looking to build a good starting point in the Invitational to get the spring season rolling.

Berry was last in action when it finished fall play with an 11th-place finish at the Division III Preview, where Lacy Sheppard, a returning senior on the spring roster, finished 14th out of 68 golfers.

In last year’s RN-T Invite, the Lady Vikings placed ninth.

The highest placed golfer for Berry was Nikki Cline who placed 25th out of 68 golfers.

Cline (Jr.) is also returning this year, along with Lauren Buschhorn (Soph.), Cady Clark (Soph.), Chelsea Hoag (Soph.), Ellen Rayburn (Soph.) and Nicole Wood (Soph.).

The RN-T Invite will feature several schools including Shorter.

Play at the RN-T Invitational is set to begin early Monday morning.
