Alexander, a former Coosa High star, scored 14 points in the second half. She easily surpassed her previous season-high of 12 points.
Shelby Farrer, a former Model standout, scored in double digits for the second consecutive game, finishing with 11 points.
She went 5-for-5 from the free throw line, and had four rebounds and two steals.
The Lady Hawks (6-4, 2-1 GSC) owned a 29-28 lead at the half. Early in the second half, Lynette Harris hit a layup to break open a tie game, and Shorter stayed in front from there.
Karisma Boykin finished with 16 points.
Boykin, the leading scorer on the season at 12.5 points per game, also added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Harris had a game-high nine rebounds to go along with six points.
Kristin Nash dished out four assists, while grabbing four rebounds and registering three steals to go along with scoring eight points.
Hanna Vette scored 13 points for the Argos (3-8, 0-3 GSC).
The Lady Hawks will continue the GSC road trip with a game on Dec. 5 at Valdosta State.

MEN
West Florida 68, Shorter 67
Walter Hill scored 22 points and Anthony Banks recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds, but Shorter dropped a Gulf South Conference road game at West Florida, 68-67.
Shorter (7-4, 1-2 GSC) owned a 67-66 lead with 1:46 left in the game after Hill scored on a jumper. But UFW’s Lendward Griffin scored the game’s final basket with 1:28 remaining. Hill had two more looks in the waning moments of the game, but missed both.
Shorter’s Brandon Wright finished with 11 points in his first start of the season.
Banks did most of his work in the second half, scoring 10 points while going 3-for-6 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the free throw line.
Dedric Ware continues to lead the team in assists, picking up five more to run his season average to 6.0 assists per game.
MEN
Santa Fe College 100,
Gainesville 74
Playing the first game of a three-game swing through Florida, the GHC Chargers fell to Santa Fe College, 100-74 in Gainesville.
Leading scorers for the Chargers were Femi Ojuolape with 18 points and Damon Mitchell with 13 .
The Chargers will travel to New Port Richey, Fla., today for game one of the Pasco Hernando College tournament.
WOMEN
Gadsden St. 109, GNTC 68
The GNTC women slipped below the .500 mark — falling to 6-7 overall — after suffering a road loss to Gadsden State.
Former Pepperell star Kiarra Parks lead the Lady Bobcats with 19 points. GNTC post player Odessa Person added 15 points, 13 rebounds and three steals in the road loss. Former Chattooga star Mariah Price had 16 points.
“This was our first action after the break and we really came out rusty,” said Georgia Northwestern head coach Jim Williams. “Gadsden (State) is a quality program and they have done a good job these past two years getting us ready for our region play.”
GNTC, the defending NJCAA Region XVII Champs, open conference play Saturday against Southern Crescent Tech at 6 p.m. at the Winthrop-King Center on the Shorter campus.
The GNC men (5-8) open the action at 4 p.m. The games are part of the college’s Breast Cancer Awareness push.
“We are really looking forward to this,” said Williams. “Just a very special day all around.”
