The funeral is Tuesday for a young Lyerly man who died in a Rome hospital after sustaining multiple injuries in a wreck in Cherokee County, Ala.

According to the Alabama State troopers:

Christopher Lee Cody Allen, 22, of Lyerly lost control of his 1996 Dodge pick-up truck on Cherokee County Road 41 near the County Road 91 intersection, north of Gaylesville, around 5:15 a.m. Friday. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Efforts to airlift Allen from the scene were thwarted by heavy fog, so he was taken by ambulance to a Rome hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Saturday.
