According to reports:
Deputies working at the jail escorted Ronald Bert Epperson, an employee with Etowah Chemicals, to the laundry area inside the jail to check on a malfunctioning machine.
After working in the area for a while, Epperson indicated that he was finished. Deputies were suspicious of the time and activities of Epperson and checked the area of the machines he was working on.
The deputies located tobacco, rolling papers and a lighter wrapped up inside a latex glove and taped inside an area of the machine.
When questioned, Epperson admitted to concealing the items for inmates and stated that "it was only tobacco".
Epperson has been charged with possession of prohibited items beyond a guard line for hiding the tobacco for inmates to use. He is currently booked into the Bartow County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
