CENTRE, Ala. — A Cherokee County jury has found 51-year-old Michael Lynn Lyons of Sand Rock guilty on a drug distribution charge.
Circuit Judge Randall Cole adopted the jury’s findings that the offense constituted an unlawful drug sale near a school and near a housing project.
Cole will sentence Lyons at a later date. Under the Habitual Offender Act, Lyons faces a minimum sentence of 15 years for the conviction of distribution and an additional five years for each of the two sentence enhancements. Lyons also could be fined as much as $30,000.
