A Rome man remained jailed Friday after being arrested on a probation warrant and charged with drug possession, reports stated.
According to Rome police reports:
Derrick Pitts, 45, of 108C Coosa St., was arrested by Rome police Thursday night after officers recognized him on Turner McCall near Riverside.
A probation violation warrant is out for his arrest.
While being searched at the Floyd County Jail, Pitts grabbed something out of his front pocket. Police reported the object was a glass pipe with suspected crack cocaine residue.
Pitts remain jailed Friday night on a felony charge of possession of crack cocaine, a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug related objects and a probation violation.
