A Rome man remained in jail Sunday on drug and traffic charges, reports stated.

According Floyd County Jail reports:

Christopher James Franklin, 22, of 225 Mark Groves Avenue in Lindale, was stopped by Floyd County officers Saturday on Cave Spring Road after he was seen driving without a seat belt on.

Police found Franklin was driving on a suspended license and, after he consented to a search of his vehicle, they recovered a small bag of methamphetamines in the ashtray.

Franklin was arrested on felony charges of possession of methamphetamines and misdemeanor charges of driving while license suspended or revoked and use of safety belts in passenger vehicles.
