A Rome man was jailed late Wednesday on felony charges after he fire a pistol in the direction of several people in Lindale, reports stated.

According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:

Herbert Matthew Buchanon, 26, of 39 Marvin Crowe Road, was jailed on felony charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes after it was reported he fired a handgun towards several people late Wednesday.

Reports stated that Buchanon was on Park Avenue in Lindale around 11:30 p.m., and had fired the handgun “without provocation or justification.”

He was released from jail on Thursday on $8,550 bail.
