Cave Spring will hold its annual Christmas parade featuring the Coosa High marching band and Santa Claus starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Councilman Kenneth Kelley, parade organizer, said that so far 12 floats as well as antique cars are set to be part of the parade.
He said this year’s route will be from the guard shack at Perry Farm Road, down U.S. 411 into Cave Spring, then around Rolater Park and ending at City Hall and the gymnasium.
Perry Farm Road will be shut down starting at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, while the rest of the roads on the parade route will close no later than 5:45 p.m.
A reception after the parade with light refreshments is planned at the Cave Spring Community Center for parade participants.
“People will be able to park their floats and come walk down and enjoy it,” Kelley said. “Santa will also be in the community center after the parade.”
Kelley said he’ll still be taking participant submissions by phone until Friday night. For more information call Kelley at 706-777-8688.
