Masked gunman poses as U.S. Marshal, robs Bartow County couple

A man with two guns apparently impersonated the U.S. Marshals when he walked into a Cartersville woman's home and demanded her and another man's belongings.

The female victim, 58, told Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies she was sitting on her couch Monday about 7 p.m. when the man holding a gun in his hand and wearing another on his side came into her Saddle Club Drive house, according to the incident report.

The masked man said he was with the U.S. Marshals, searched the home and asked the victim if she had her ID and any medications. The gunman—a Caucasian man dressed in dark clothing and wearing a camouflage mask—said he had several other officers around the corner, who would "tear apart her house" if she didn't cooperate, the report says.
