Carla Nation and Keric Freeman, both of Rome, announce their engagement.

Nation is the daughter of the Rev. James and Cynthia White of Rome. Freeman is the son of Ruby Gibson-Whatley of Rome and the late Rev. Jesse J. Freeman.

Miss Nation is a graduate of West Rome High School, a 2005 graduate of University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is currently self- employed as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant.

The bride-elect is the mother of Brandon Montgomery of Rome. She is the grandmother of Kaityln Hames and Jh’zyiah Montgomery, both of Rome. She is the sister of Kelly Pugh of Dalton, Kristi Milner of Rome, Brandy Johnson of Suffolk, Va., Zoe White of Rome, Gregory Foster, Jasmond Foster, and Amber Foster, all of Rockmart. She is the granddaughter of Bobbie Nation of Rome.

Freeman is a graduate of East Rome High School. He is self-employed.

The groom-elect is the father of Malik Freeman of Rome. He is the brother of Patricia Donaldson, Barry Ellis, Katrina Freeman-Sullivan, Liz Freeman, Tanya Freeman, all of Rome, Pamela Grier of Rockmart, Danisha Freeman-Hames of Dallas, Texas, Kedra Freeman of Kansas City, Mo., Michelle Freeman of Laurel, Md. and Michele Reliford of Ypsilanti, Mich.

The wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at LoveJoy Baptist Church in Rome.
