No injuries as wreck backs up U.S. 411 South
A three vehicle wreck on U.S. 411 south of Rome on Friday morning didn’t result in major injuries, but it was a major headache for drivers in the area.
According to Joseph Teet with the Georgia State Patrol:
A tractor-trailer driven by David Slagle, 63, of Birmingham, Ala., was traveling on U.S. 411 South when he slowed down and stopped for a flagman in a construction area.
Teet said the second vehicle, a 1995 Dodge Neon driven by Clara Johnson, 70, of Fort Payne, Ala., stopped behind the tractor-trailer but a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Wanda Steed, 58, of Cave Spring, failed to stop.
The collision tied up traffic for at least 40 minutes before the wreck could be cleaned up.
Teet said no one was taken to the hospital in the wreck.
