Several division winners were crowned during championship matches on Tuesday at the USTA Georgia State Junior Open hosted by the Rome-Floyd Tennis Center.
The boys 10s singles division championship was won by three-seed Kevin Zhang, of Marietta, defeating Alpharetta’s Kentaro Baynes in the final in straight sets, 6-1,6-1.
One-seed Sabina Grigorian, of Macon, defeated three-seed Neri Cohen, of Tucker, 6-0, 6-0, to claim the Girls 10s singles championship.
The boys 18s doubles division also crowned a champion with the top-seeded team of Eric Caltabiano, of Suwanee and Norman Chang, of Berkeley Lake taking the boys’ title over the three-seeded team of Duluth’s Dean Pryles and Alpharetta’s Jack Williams, 8-5.
Claire Marshall and Amelia Mcissac took the girls 18s doubles division championship by defeating the top-seeded team of Marietta’s Stephanie Falcon and Kennesaw’s Caitlin Kitchen, 8-5.
