Classmates and guests met Sept. 28 at Pepperell Primary School for a casual gathering before the Pepperell/Dade County football game. The class was announced as special guests before the football game began.
On Sept. 29, attendees met at the Rome Area History Museum for an evening of refreshments, dancing and reminiscing with old friends and classmates. Roy Gilreath, class president, welcomed classmates, spouses and special guests.
Former teachers — including Pepperell coach Wayne Huntley, H.I. Jones and his wife and from McHenry Primary, and Patty McReynolds and her husband — were welcomed as honored guests by John Knowles.
Deceased classmates Debra Oswalt, Candi Borders Riordan, William Hampton, Sunni (Mathis) Garmon, Bobbi (Midgett) Berrian, Tom Roberson, Michael Strickland, Ernest Smith and Kay Scott were remembered with a prayer and moment of silence.
Alumni attending the reunion enjoyed an evening of entertainment by classmate Darlene (Storey) Scoggins and her husband Steve.
