ATLANTA (AP) — The medical examiner's office is trying to identify the remains of a woman found under a home in southwest Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that a police dog alerted authorities Thursday to the remains.

Detectives said the body belonged to a woman, but her identity was not immediately clear.

Atlanta Police Lt. Paul Guerrucci said the remains may need to be identified using DNA or other techniques.
