Police: Cyclist charged with crack possession, public drunkeness

A Rome man was arrested Thursday afternoon, March 10, after police said they saw him near the Hop ‘N’ Shop on Callahan Street riding his bike and drinking alcohol, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome police reports:

Ronald David Sullivan, 52, 4 Perkins St., was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor pedestrians under the influence of alcohol and public drunkenness.

Police said Sullivan was riding dangerously near traffic. They also found a suspected crack rock in a finger from a rubber glove in his right front pocket.

Sullivan remained in jail Friday morning.
