Polk County man sentenced for stealing railroad spikes

ROCKMART — A Polk County man was sentenced to probation, issued a $1,500 fine and ordered to stay away from railroad property after he pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing railroad spikes.

Dontavious Darden, no age listed, of 527 Springdale Road, Rockmart, pleaded guilty on charges of theft by taking and criminal trespass.

Officers arrested Darden and Justin Ballew, of Aragon, on Aug. 7, 2011, regarding alleged theft of railroad spikes, according to court testimony.
