The first-round of the GHSA State Football Playoffs begins tonight across the state and several local teams will take to the field.

Locally, Armuchee, Darlington and Calhoun will all play host to first-round opponents. Calhoun, the top-ranked team in Class AA, will play host to Avondale.

Armuchee, the Region 7-AA runner-up, will play host to Westminster. Darlington, the Region 6-A champion, will play host to Warren County.

Other local teams in action tonight are Pepperell travelling to play defending Class AA champion Buford, and Trion travelling to always tough Lincoln County.
