David Vollenweider has been named director of perioperative services for Redmond Regional Medical Center. He will be responsible for the efficient operation of the perioperative departments, including the operating rooms, PACU, central sterile and outpatient areas.
Vollenweider has worked in health care for 18 years in a variety of positions. Before moving into health care management, he worked as an EMT, volunteer firefighter and staff nurse. He has served as administrative director of perioperative services at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, and most recently has served in a consultant role for perioperative services at Dallas Regional in Texas, Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma and Tufts New England Medical Center.
Vollenweider earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Eastern New Mexico University and his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Columbus State University. He earned his master’s degree in ,anagement and health care administration from Troy State University.
Vollenweider and his wife Vickie have a son and a daughter. They reside in Roanoke, Ala.
