The Coosa-North Georgia Regional Water Planning Council will meet next at 9 a.m. on Nov. 18 in the Lumpkin County Community Center, 365 Riley Road, Dahlonega.
The daylong session will focus on forecasting municipal and industrial needs for the 18 counties located mainly in the Coosa River Basin - Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Habersham, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Polk, Towns, Union, Walker, White, and Whitfield.
Rome City Mananger John Bennett chairs the council, which is charged with drawing up a regional water management plan to be folded into the statewide plan. Floyd County Commissioner Irwin Bagwell and Jerry Jennings, founder and chair of the Northwest Georgia Regional Water Resources partnership are Floyd County's other representatives on the 25-member organization.
