Report: Clothing, stereo equipment taken from cars

Rome police are investigating the theft of more than $3,000 in items taken from two different cars in overnight break-ins on Callahan Street.

According to reports:

Police were called out Saturday at 4 a.m. and later returned at 4:30 a.m. after two separate complaints of break-ins.

Reports stated that a brown Gucci handbag — allegedly worth $1,500 — and personal identification were taken. Officers later returned when a stereo, subwoofer and amplifier worth a combined $2,450 were reported stolen.
